Monster Music

Playing

• Play / Pause — starts the music (and the party).
• The music never stops: one finished track of 3–4 minutes follows the next, and like a DJ the site blends them — the next track's drums come in while the last one ends.
• Open mixer (or M) shows all controls; CLOSE hides them again.
• BPM − / + — the tempo.
• Style — Deep house, Tech house or Minimal. RANDOM STYLE lets every new track choose its own.
• NEW TRACK — everything new: style, tempo, sounds, patterns.
• NEW VARIATION — a new track in the same style and tempo. Channels with the lock stay as they are.

Shaping the sound

• Six channels: kick, clap, hats, bass, chords, lead — each with a switch, a volume fader and a level meter.
• SOUND and PATTERN ‹ › — pick another instrument or rhythm for a channel; the dice picks both at random.
• 16 STEP BEAT — the rhythm of the selected channel; press a step to switch it on or off.
• EFFECTS — filter, delay (echo), reverb (room), swing.
• EQ — low, mid and high.
• ENERGY — how busy and loud the music is, and how many monsters dance.

Keeping a track

• The timeline shows the parts of the track that is playing; press a part to jump there.
• SAVE — download the track as a WAV file, or keep it in MY TRACKS in this browser.
• COPY LINK — a link that rebuilds exactly this track for anyone who opens it.

In the hall

• Ghost wail, Bats, Laser, Wind — each one with its own little scene.
• Move the mouse quickly: it makes wind in the hall.
• The neon signs over the doorways: ABOUT opens this page, BUY A ROUND is for buying the monsters a drink (the glass button next to About does the same).
